Leading NRL journalists Michael Chammas and Danny Weidler have clashed on air following a disagreement over David Klemmer’s fiery press conference this week.

Weidler on Wednesday made headlines by going back and forth in a media press conference with the Tigers prop.
The veteran journalist sparked a fiery response from Tigers prop when he questioned Klemmer’s decision to intervene in the confrontation between Jackson Hastings and Tommy Talau in the aftermath of Newcastle’s win over the Tigers on Sunday.
Weidler’s fiery press conference then led to a tense back and forth between him and Chammas on Thursday, with the pair butting heads over several key moments.
Weidler: Last week you were bagging me, saying I’m soft and I don’t ask questions. This week you’re bagging me because I asked questions. What do you want?
Chammas: You went [hard]. You knew what you were doing.
