Leading NRL journalist Danny Weidler has revealed why he initially held back on reporting the sexual assault allegations surrounding former NRL player Jarryd Hayne.
LISTEN HERE:
Hayne, 35, is currently in the middle of a third trial after pleading not guilty to two counts of sexual intercourse without consent.
Weidler, the first NRL journalist to break the story nearly three years ago, explained how the allegations came to him and why at first, he held off from reporting the matter in the media.
“It was a serious allegation I was hearing about,” Weidler said on LiSTNR’S Footy Talk League Podcast.
