‘Clubs Will Be Watching’: NRL Rivals To Monitor Cowboys Luciano Leilua’s Return, Says Brent Read

Leading NRL journalist Brent Read says he expects rival teams to closely monitor Luciano Leilua’s eventual return to first grade after the back-rower was officially taken off the NRL’s No-Fault Stand Down condition.

Leilua, 26, is now free to run out for the Cowboys this season after his domestic violence-related charges were dropped on Thursday.

The club has also been granted an exemption for Leilua to play as soon as this weekend, and according to Read, rival clubs will be closely monitoring his return when North Queensland takes on the Wests Tigers on Saturday night.

“There will be some clubs watching him, the Cowboys are loaded with back-rowers,” Read said on Triple M’s Rush Hour.
