The NRL have dropped a bombshell announcement.
Rugby league’s concussion protocols were thrown into the spotlight, specifically surrounding Newcastle Knights star Kalyn Ponga.
Players will now be forced to be stood down for at least 11 days.
The boys of The Rush Hour with Gus, Jude & Dell discussed the major issue impacting both NRL & AFL.

‘We’ve got to learn from the past,’ said former AFL premiership winner Jude Bolton.
‘[We] have to understand how past players are faring post football and some of them haven’t done [well].’
Whilst Wendell Sailor, a former NRL premiership winner himself stressed that players need take this seriously.
‘[We] have to protect the players from themselves.’
Though the NRL were also forced into action after the current situation engulfing the AFL.
The AFL are dealing with two landmark class action lawsuits for long-term concussion damage to AFL players, the first being up to $1bn.
Former Geelong Cats premiership-player Max Rooke as well as Shaun Smith, Darren Jarman and the wife of Shane Tuck are just some of up to 60-former AFL players suing the sporting organisation.
With the crisis engulfing the AFL, the NRL have been forced to change their own concussion protocols to avoid long-term health problems and future legal battles.
