Max Gawn has swiftly defended teammate Steven May after the pair were caught in a heated moment seconds after the siren had sounded against Collingwood on King’s Birthday.
“Both extremely disappointed … my reaction was poor,” Gawn told Mick In The Morning.

“We had opportunities, the reality of us scoring from the back pocket is low, especially a ruck.”
The star ruck added he was “slightly disappointed in how it played out” amid heightened emotions.
“[Steve] has copped it in the media the last 24 hours. If he had his time again, might not do it on the final siren with a camera on us.”
