Brent Read joined The Rush Hour with Gus, Jude & Wendell and gave a major update on the crisis at Wests Tigers.
LISTEN HERE:
Wests Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis was supposedly extended for another three seasons at the club, yet there is much confusion to the situation, with an exit now on the cards.
“They are conducting a review,” said Read
“But it seems like there’s a power struggle.
“Lee [Hagipantelis] wrote that he was appointed for another three years as chairman.
“And that was from a meeting we had with Lee and he confirmed it.
“We quoted him on it.
“[Now] there’s a debate on whether he actually has been appointed as chairman or just as a board member.
“Lee’s a major sponsor, put a lot of money in that football club.
“A lot of people have been critical of Lee but one thing you can never say about Lee is that he doesn’t love that football club.
“It seems like there’s a power play to remove Lee.”
