“I Just Get Torn A New One”: When Phil Gould Blew Up At The Wrong Reporter

Rugby league legend Phil Gould and Sydney Morning Herald journalist Michael Chammas are Channel 9 colleagues, but they weren’t always on the same side.

On the Footy Talk League podcast, Chammas recalls a time Gould went off at him over several stories he wrote, except he didn’t. That didn’t stop Gus delivering an all-time spray!

“I’m waiting, excited, a bit nervous. Gus comes out and says, ‘What do you want to talk about?’

“‘Oh, playing finals football, playing for the club.’
