Dual code legend Wendell Sailor believes a five to six-day turnaround for Origin players backing for club football is a tough ask on the game’s stars in the wake of Nathan Cleary’s hamstring injury.

Panthers on fans on Sunday were dealt a cruel blow when Cleary, the club co-captain and Blues playmaker, failed to finish Penrith’s match against Dragons after suffering a hamstring injury, with the club revealing he would be on the sidelines for up to six weeks.
Sailor explained that with the game faster than ever before, a five to six-day turnaround from the “intensity” of an Origin clash is a challenge for players in today’s game.
“You can’t pick what’s going to happen, but the game is getting quicker,” Sailor said on Triple M’s Rush Hour.
