Australian boxing icon Danny Green joined The Rush Hour with Gus, Jude & Wendell for the latest episode of their Hero, Highlight & Hardship podcast.
LISTEN HERE:
Green opened up on his legendary rivalry with fellow world champion Aussie boxing legend Anthony Mundine.
Both split their record against each other at one-win apiece. Though Green got the better of Choc in 2017, it was their famous 2006 bout, at the height of both of their careers that stopped a nation in its tracks.
Though Green lost the first fight at Sydney Football Stadium by unanimous decision, he still remembers it all so vividly and cherishes being apart of Australian boxing history.
“I have a lot of love for Choc,” started Green.
“The first fight we had, it was the best!”
Both set an Australian pay-per-view record, with an estimated grossing figure at $20m.
Though Green felt like he lost controversially, he’s able to celebrate the success it was and his admiration for Mundine.
“How can you fault this bloke?
“He doesn’t drink, doesn’t do drugs, doesn’t smoke.
“I guess he probably shoots himself in the foot a bit with what he says and how he says it.
“But his intent isn’t always bad.
“He’s a humble dude.”
