Both Todd Carney & Mitchell Pearce on Footy Talk League’s Half-Time are concerned that the bubble has indeed bursted for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, as the Josh Addo-Carr drama compounded by poor form could see the end of their 2024 season.
LISTEN HERE:
It was only a few weeks ago that the Dogs were the talk of the NRL.
Seven wins from eight games, a top four spot in sight, a boisterous fan-base making a lot of noise in Sydney’s West, things were starting to feel a bit like 2004.
Yet, two thumping losses to close out the season against fellow top eight sides, North Queensland Cowboys and Elimination Final opponents Manly Sea Eagles has given the Doggies a stark reality check.
Now, the club has been dragged into the spotlight after star Josh Addo-Carr reportedly failed a roadside drug test, which the winger himself has voluntarily stood himself down from the first week of the finals as investigations continue.
UPDATE: Addo-Carr’s voluntary urine sample he conducted on Monday the 9th has returned negative but the second roadside test may come back in three months, at best six weeks.
Both Pearce and Carney question if the Bulldogs can bounce back on the latest episode of Footy Talk League’s Half-Time and preview all four finals from Week One in the clip above!
