Leading NRL journalist Brent Read has responded to Ray Hadley’s criticism of his feature article on Payne Haas, which referenced his mother’s legal issues.
LISTEN HERE:
Read, who writes for News Corp and is part of the Triple M NRL team, wrote a feature article on the Haas family, which included the ongoing legal battle with Payne’s mother.
Uiatu “Joan” Taufua was charged with three counts of manslaughter following a two-car collision in Bonogin in December. She was the sole survivor in a horror crash that killed three people.
Responding to Read’s article, Hadley said: “Brent Read hang your head in shame. There’s got to be a better rugby league story than this one.”
Read responded to Hadley’s criticism on LiSTNR’s Footy Talk League Podcast.
“Ray thought it was distasteful and he’s had a red hot go,” Read said.
