Eddie McGuire has made an incredible career for himself across Triple M, Collingwood, Channel 9 and everywhere else in between.
It may not have been if it weren’t for Bruce McAvaney.
Early in McGuire’s television days, McAvaney – who helped mentor him – gave him one bit of advice after seeing one of his live crosses.
As Eddie told Mark Howard on The Howie Games, it was that poignant it’s stuck with him ever since.
“I have no doubt that if Bruce hadn’t calmed me down on this night…yeah, I just might have been another one who came and went,” he told Howie.
