Scott Pendlebury’s First-Hand Account Of The Brayden Maynard/Angus Brayshaw Incident

It’s going to be the most high-profile tribunal proceeding in recent memory.

So what does Brayden Maynard’s teammate Scott Pendlebury think?

After sending his best wishes to Angus Brayshaw, who was knocked out by Maynard’s smother on Thursday night, Pendles took us onto the field.

Pendlebury told Jay Clark on the Jock and Journo podcast the incident happened as he was running past to cover defensively.

“He’s missed that by centimetres, and if he touches that, we’re lauding (him). Imagine if that saves us a centre bounce goal,” he explained.

He also posed a few questions for Jay about duty of care within the game.

“If I go for a specky and knee you in the back of the head, do I have a duty of care? So is running and jumping to smother part of the game?”
