Triple M Footy’s Leigh Montagna unfortunately knows a thing or two about losing a close Grand Final.
He explained on the Midweek Rub how Brisbane are feeling the pinch after going so close over the past few seasons, including last year’s heartbreak against Collingwood.
“Losing a Grand Final – It actually does take an emotional toll,” Montagna said.
JOEY ON BRISBANE’S SLUMP:
“Particularly when you’ve been a team contending for a number of years.”
“And you get to the top of the mountain, (but) you don’t quite be able to stake the flag at the top.”
Montagna used the example of St Kilda sliding at the start of 2011 after narrowly missing in 2009 & 2010.
