Adelaide young gun Josh Rachele confirmed his long term contract extension at the Crows on Roo, Ditts & Loz for Breakfast this morning.
“I’ve got some exciting news today”, Rachele said.
“Just to let Crows fans know that I’ll also be jumping on board and signing on.
“I’m recommitting to the club until 2029.”
Rachele joins Max Michalanney, Harry Schoenberg and crucially Jake Soligo in signing on to the club long term.
Rachele said that Soligo’s signature was all the impetus he needed to sign for a further four years on top of the two years remaining on his deal.
“I think when the opportunity came, it was a no-brainer,” he said.
“To see Jake also sign on, one of my close mates, made it a whole lot easier.”

Rachele said it was difficult for Soligo – not just a close friend, but his housemate – not to spill the beans when addressing his own extension.
“There was a few hard questions towards him in press conference the last few days, bugging him” Rachele said.
“And he had to pretend like he had no idea, but yeah he definitely knew!”
Rachele said he hasn’t felt the pull back to Melbourne, and that a desire to stick around at a club was instilled in him as a junior.
“I’ve always wanted to be a one club player, and that kind of started as a young kid playing down at Shepparton Swans,” he said.
“All my friends were playing at better clubs and winning flags, and I was getting flogged and coming last every week!”
