Former North Melbourne president James Brayshaw & Damian Barrett broke down the current state of play at North Melbourne after the club has slid back to 18th position.
West Coast’s massive upset over the Western Bulldogs has seen North relegated to the bottom for the third season in a row.
“2020: Second last, 2021: Last, 2022: Last, 2023: Last,” Barrett said on Triple M’s Rush Hour.
JB & DAMO ON NORTH:
Brayshaw isn’t celebrating the fact they’ve inherited the No.1 draft pick.
“I just hope there is none of the smugness often attached to a team that gets a first round draft pick,” Barrett said.
“I wouldn’t have thought there would be any of that. There certainly should not be any of that,” Brayshaw said.
“It’s not a good place to be finishing last in the comp three of the last four years.”
However, JB likes how North have shown small signs of improvement in 2023 despite not converting good performances into wins.
Brayshaw identified the medical department as a glaring hole at the club at the moment.
“It’s been a shamble. So that’s one of the things that Clarko’s got to do, is go into that department and go ‘we can’t have this’,” Brayshaw said.
