It only took 34 days for Kane Cornes to change his tune on the Saints, who are now marching their way into finals.
A 33 point win over the Cats on Saturday at Marvel means Ross Lyon has locked his team into a finals appearance that would have been unimaginable at round 1 this year.
Many have doubted the Saints this year, but none more so than Kane Cornes who only a month ago, said they hadn’t improved at all since Lyon’s takeover, “if anything they’ve gone backwards.” A comment kicked off a back and forth between Cornes, Riewoldt and Brett Ratten in the lead up to round 19.
