“I Always Refer To It As Token”: Trent Cotchin Opens Up On His 2012 Brownlow Medal

Trent Cotchin has an extensive CV during his long career at Richmond – but he believes he is a “token” Brownlow medalist.

Cotchin was awarded the 2012 Brownlow Medal alongside Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell four years later, after initial winner Jobe Watson was stripped of the award due to Essendon’s supplements saga.

“It’d be remiss of me not to mention, in all these accolades, that you’re a Brownlow medalist,” Mark Howard asked him on the latest episode of The Howie Games.

So Howie asked him about struggling to accept the award, as well as his conversations with and appreciation for Watson and Essendon.
