Damian Barrett’s Proposed Hefty Sanction For Jeremy Finlayson Over Homophobic Comment

Triple M Footy’s Damian Barrett has proposed a hefty sanction for Port Adelaide’s Jeremy Finlayson after he made a homophobic comment to an Essendon opponent on the weekend.

DAMO’S PROPOSED SANCTION FOR JEREMY FINLAYSON OVER HOMOPHOBIC COMMENT:

“My take on it is… we keep walking past these moments,” Damo said on the Rush Hour with JB & Billy.

“[Alastair] Clarkson would have been the perfect one to suspend to just therefore evermore know, if you wanna go down this path, that’s what happens to you.

“Now we get to Jeremy FInlayson five, six weeks later… it’s not good enough.”

Damo also had some further details about the incident went down and came to be noticed.

“I’m not convinced the player it was directed at had an issue with it,” he said.

“I don’t know whether that means anything anyway, but other players did and the umpires did as well.”

Finlayson immediately admitted to the slur, taking responsibility and apologising the day afterwards.

He has yet to learn his sanction, with the AFL still deliberating on the punishment.
