Jay Clark has reported on Triple M’s Rush Hour that the AFL are likely to implement a ‘Shamozzle Officer’ to oversee any umpiring howlers in the wake of the Adelaide Oval controversy in Round 23.
Jay Clark told JB & Billy that a senior AFL official is set to sit alongside the ARC in case there is a drastic error made.
“I’m going to refer to it as a ’Shamozzle Officer’.”
The official will have the ability to contact the umpires directly and stop the game if required.
Clark said it’s won’t be in place this weekend, but the AFL plan for it to be in place for the finals.
“It won’t be implemented for this week, the final home and away round. It’s potentially for the first week of the finals.”
