Rent prices across Australia may be sky rocketing right now, but according to Leo Patterson Ross from the Tenants Union of NSW, there are a number of steps you can take to help lighten the stress.
Speaking with Shevonne Hunt on the Feed Play Love podcast, Leo says it’s important to first check that the rent increase has been legally served. It’s also important to check that your rent hasn’t gone up more times than allowed within the time of your lease.
Leo says, “We have had people recently who’ve been asked to pay more than $100 more a week than what any kind of reasonable research would suggest”.
