Dr Karl Reveals What Percentage Of Medical Advice On TikTok Is Factually Accurate

The internet in general doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to reporting factual medical advice, but just how accurate is the information on TikTok? According to renounced science broadcaster Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, the answer is lower than we even thought.

Speaking on the latest episode of TOFOP with Friends via the Everyone Relax podcast, Dr Karl sat down with Wil Anderson to discuss his life, what science actually is, and combatting online misinformation.

“Two things about science,” he began.

“Firstly, it’s not a bunch of facts; that’s an encyclopaedia. It’s a way of trying to understand the world. But secondly, science is a way to not get fooled… There’s people selling ‘lettuce water’ and ‘chlorophyll water’ and ‘you can cure everything with [insert weird thing here]’ – So science is a way to not get fooled.”

“The world has changed and it makes it hard for people to be able to find the truth,” he added.
