Labelling it as “absolute rubbish!” both Brent Read and Buzz Rothfield went through his comments on Triple M NRL Daily as the NRL have come over heavy scrutiny from clubs, media personnel and fans.
It was a competition record of 18 sin-bins in one weekend of footy!
“Whatever [Bennett] says carries so much clout in this game,” said Rothfield.
“And Andrew Johns, for him to say it’s embarrassing , Wayne Bennett to use the word rubbish, that is so powerful.
“They’re both 100% right.”
Buzz stated that sin-bins have gone up 140%, whilst players on report has jumped to a 75% increase.
But both Buzz and Ready clashed, as Rothfield was incensed that NRL CEO Andrew Abdo has denied that there has been any sort of “crackdown”, whilst Ready acknowledged the NRL’s mistakes as they attempt to implement changes for Magic Round to combat the increase in head-high punishments.
