Australia Kangaroos beat Tonga XIII 20-14 in the Pacific Championship Final in Parramatta.
Though a large contingent of Tongan fans filled Commbank Stadium in Sydney’s West, Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga was full of praise over the atmosphere that turned a home final into an away game.
Speaking on Triple M Meninga said, “It was excellent!”
“I think there was Tongan hymns being sung across.
“It’s the passion across the Pacific Islands but one day I’d love to see a crowd that’s equal.”
