James Graham on Saturday Scrum gave his thoughts on why Jack Cole could be ahead of Blaize Talagi.
The race to fill the number six shirt Jarome Luai left behind at Penrith Panthers will truly be on this season, in a subplot to the club’s ambition to win a fifth straight title.
Talagi, the high profile signing from rivals Parramatta Eels underwent a shoulder reconstruction in the off-season, which has delayed his debut for his new club.
Though Graham explained that regardless, Cole could be ahead in the race.
“I think it’s a fact that Talagi’s had that should issue,” said Graham.
“But what Cole does, he knows the system, especially defensively.
“If you look at Penrith’s success from over the years, it’s been built on defence.
“Maybe that’s where Jack Cole has the slight advantage.”
