Todd Carney praised the tactics of Cronulla Sharks head coach Craig Fitzgibbon on Footy Talk League’s Half-Time podcast as the Shire side now find themselves third on the NRL ladder.
“They’ve got a game plan that suits them, with the wide passes getting to the edges,” said Carney.”

“Their middles, yes they touch the ball but they’re not needed half the time because their back five starts their sets for them.
“Their middles are fresh because they haven’t had to do many carries out of their red-zone.
“They get away a good kick and all of a sudden [the back five] are down there.”
It’s a testament to the Sharks who have had to battles injuries in the second-half of the season with their halves and outside backs.
Yet, the depth in numbers on show has Cronulla very much in title contention.
