Adam Reynolds Responds To Blues’ Liam Martin’s Comments To Target Reece Walsh In State of Origin Game 2

Broncos skipper and former Blues halfback Adam Reynolds has responded to Blues second-rower Liam Martin’s comments about targeting Reece Walsh when he returns from injury to Origin.

Speaking on The Rush Hour with Leisel Jones, Liam, and Dobbo, Reynolds said he understands the comments about “going after” Walsh:

“I understand where they’re coming from,” Reynolds said.

“Reece is a great player, and you don’t want to give him much time with the ball. That’s a priority for all 16 NRL clubs. It’s no different for Reece; he’s in that arena for a reason.”

Walsh was ruled out of the first State of Origin game after just eight minutes after being taken down by Blues rookie Joseph-Aukuso Sua’ali’i, who delivered a hard hit after Walsh had already passed the ball. Suaalii was immediately sent off and received a four-match ban.

State of Origin Game Two will be Walsh’s first game back after missing two matches for the Broncos due to concussion protocols.

Reynolds believes the Blues have a strong chance to win Game Two.

“I think the Blues have a great chance if they can keep thirteen on the field. I like the team Madge has picked; there’s quality all across the park. They’re a hardworking team,” Reynolds said.
