A woman has been discovered dead at the National Zoo and Aquarium in Canberra, prompting an immediate response from ACT police and emergency services.
The authorities were called to the zoo at approximately 12:50 pm today, where they found the body of the woman in a commercial kitchen area on the premises.

A person of interest, identified as a 29-year-old man, has been apprehended by the police and subsequently transported to the hospital under police guard.
The nature of his involvement in the incident is yet to be disclosed.
