A woman has been mauled by multiple dingoes on K’gari in Queensland on Monday morning.
The woman was believed to have been chased into the ocean by four dingoes close to Orchid Beach on K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) at around 9:15AM.
According to the Queensland Department of Environment and Science, the woman has suffered several bite wounds to the lower half of her body.
“Rangers and the Queensland Ambulance Service are responding to a wongari incident on K’gari that has left a woman with injuries to the lower half of her body,” the department said in a statement.
“The full details of the incident are not yet known, and the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will conduct an investigation.”
The woman is expected to be flown to a hospital for further treatment.
