“People might mock him, washing hair and things like this, but I’ve travelled with a lot of prime ministers and opposition leaders on the road and he’s actually incredible at that one-on-one chatting with people and I think he might be over to narrow this gap.”

But, can he pull off another miracle? Especially given the recent blunders: the broken promise to Christians with the religious discrimination act shelved, the text-messaging scandal and “asking for forgiveness” during the 14th anniversary of Rudd’s stolen generation apology.
The cracks are beginning to show. It’s looking like he won’t be able to bank on his “family man” image this time around.
