Wroe said Iran could potentially launch terrorist attacks in retaliation.
“It’s possible,” Wroe said.
Wroe warned that any terrorist attack by Iran would be a “risky” move, as it could “invite a heavy retaliation from the US.”
“They could use cyber attacks against the US. The Iranians have some pretty formidable cyber capabilities. They’re not quite China or Russia, but there are no slouches on the cyber front,” he said.
Iran is also known to rely on its proxy network throughout the Middle East.
“There are no slouches on the cyber front,” he added.
“They of course have their terrorist proxies around the Middle East, admittedly heavily degraded by Israel, notably Hezbollah in Lebanon is a shadow of its former self.”
