An unverified video has been posted of captured Australian man Oscar Jenkins, reportedly showing him alive in Russian captivity.

The man asked Jenkins to identify himself.

“My name is Oscar Jenkins… I am 32 years old… I come from Australia,” Jenkins said.

The man then asked Jenkins to describe his overall health, with Jenkins saying he felt “weak”, had “lost a lost of weight” and believed his arm was still broken.

At the conclusion of the video the man said, “the information about your death is not right?” to which Jenkins replied “correct”.

On Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was asked about the video while speaking with ABC Sydney.

Albanese said he and the government still held “serious concerns” about Jenkins’ welfare.

“I have seen the video, but we still hold serious concerns for Mr Jenkins’ welfare,” he said.

“We’ve made it clear to Russia that Mr Jenkins is a prisoner of war and that there are obligations that kick in, in accordance with international humanitarian law, and they must be observed.

“We have called for Russia to release Mr Jenkins so that he can come home to his family.”
