While at the Bloods, Parker was a co-captain from 2019 to 2023 and won the Bob Skilton Medallist as the club’s champion three times.
He had played 26 finals games, and featured in the 2012 premiership side.
In a statement published by the Swans, Parker thanked the club for his 14 years, saying he loved his time there.
“The decision to part ways with the club after 14 years has been an extremely difficult choice, one I thought I’d never have to make,” he said
“My most valued memories have been forged here, alongside a group of teammates who have become like brothers, and with fans who have shown me more love than I could have ever imagined deserving.
“The Sydney Swans will always hold a special place for my family and I.”
Parker is contracted with the Swans until the end of 2025.
The club will hold discussions with North Melbourne to fulfil the request when the trade period commences on October 7.
