Tragedy Strikes As Car Rolls On Teewah Beach, Claiming One Life And Injuring Four

A man in his twenties lost his life, and four others sustained injuries when their vehicle rolled multiple times on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The group of five international tourists, all in their twenties, were navigating the sandy shores of Teewah Beach in the Cooloola Recreation Reserve, north of Noosa, when their Toyota Prado flipped.

One passenger was ejected from the vehicle, while the driver tragically succumbed to the incident at the scene.

Emergency services, including Queensland Police and the QLD Ambulance service, responded swiftly to the distressing scene. 

Three men and a woman were rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, with two of them presenting suspected spinal injuries.

Fortunately, one individual has been discharged, while the remaining patients are reported to be in stable condition.

Senior Constable Jacqui Burge said: “ It appears that the vehicle has tripped and caused the vehicle to roll.”

Lorenz Kleinberg of the QLD Ambulance service described the scene as “confronting”, as the vehicle appeared to have rolled four or five times.

Authorities are actively working to reach out to the driver’s family overseas.
