A traffic worker has been killed in Melbourne overnight after being struck by a vehicle in Clifton Hill.
Emergency services were called out to the Eastern Freeway near Hoddle Street following reports a man had been hit by a vehicle at around 12:15AM.
The man was believed to have been a traffic worker who was hit by an oncoming Toyota sedan.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Police arrested the 27-year-old driver of the Toyota at the scene.
The driver is now believed to be assisting police with their investigations.
Police have warned of delays in the area with the outbound lanes of the Eastern Freeway closed near Hoddle Street.
Traffic travelling outbound from Alexandra Parade is being diverted to Queens Parade and Heidelberg Road through Wellington Street to the Chandler Highway.
