Three missing after seaplane nose dives off Rottnest Island

Three people remain missing after a light plane crashed into waters off Rottnest Island, Western Australia.

The private aircraft nosedived shortly after take off, with three people found with serious injuries. Another person is believed to have suffered minor injuries.

WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch said, “Police and a number of civilian vessels provided immediate aid in an attempt to assist in the rescue.”

” I can confirm that four people have been recovered from the water,” Blanch said.

“I do want to reassure the community that we have significant resources on scene and we are doing everything we can.”

A major search and rescue mission has been launched to try to find three other passengers around the popular tourist destination.
