The First Australian Has Been Cryogenically Frozen – But What Happens Next?

The first Australian to undergo cryopreservation has officially been frozen. 

Earlier this month, a man who died in a Sydney hospital was frozen at Southern Cryogenic, the southern hemisphere’s first cryogenic facility. 

The man was one of dozens of people who have forked over tens of thousands of dollars to put themselves into a deep freeze until science catches up with their dreams of eternal life.

But what is cryonics? And what does the future look like?

The Briefing spoke to Peter Tsolakides, director of Southern Cryonics in Holbrook, about the process and the future for those who opt into the futuristic scheme.
