Teenage Boy Arrested After Alleged Stabbing At University Of Sydney

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested following an alleged stabbing incident at the University of Sydney along Parramatta Road, Camperdown.

According to the New South Wales police, emergency services were called to the scene at around 8:35am Tuesday.

A 22-year-old man was treated at the scene before rushing to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in serious but stable condition. 

Officers from the Inner West Police Area Command quickly established a crime scene and were informed that a male had boarded a bus on Parramatta Road following the incident. 

Shortly afterwards, police arrested the 14-year-old boy near Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

The teenager is currently assisting with inquiries.

Police said that the individuals involved are not believed to have known each other, and there is no ongoing risk to the community.

The University of Sydney confirmed that a police operation was underway on campus but referred all further inquiries to the police.
