Victoria Police are urging Taylor Swift fans to beware of scammers ahead of the Eras Tour next week, reporting over $260,000 has been lost to fake resellers.
Capitalising on demand for tickets, it was reported scammers have been hacking social media accounts and using people’s profiles to sell false tickets.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s Scamwatch said it had received over 270 reports of scams for the tour, particularly from New South Wales and Victoria.
Scamwatch reported that scammers might upload a story or post saying they can’t attend and offering tickets for sale, similar to the screenshots below.
“This scam activity is expected to increase leading up to Swift’s Australian concert dates in mid-February,” Scamwatch wrote.
