Reports have come out that Queensland police are wasting more than 28,000 hours annually through outdated administrative tasks, such as delivering documents by person.
Queensland Police Union President Ian Leavers joined Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan, shedding light on the alarming inefficiencies and red tape around these procedures, calling for urgent need for reform.

“It’s actually three and a half thousand shifts a year, which are being wasted just by delivering paperwork.
And even things like going to prisons to serve paperwork, surely that can be done by staff at prisons? Electronic service of documents, it’s 2024, it’s not 1985.” Said Leavers.
