The Homicide Squad and Major Crime Unit are investigating the death of a woman in Central Victoria.
The victim was found unresponsive when emergency crews arrived at an address in the Bendigo suburb of Kangaroo Flat shortly before midnight Sunday.

She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Two primary school-aged children were inside the home at the time but were not injured.
Hours later a 44-year-old man was arrested at Harcourt North, south of Bendigo, with the assistance of the Air Wing and officers on the ground.
He was taken into custody and was helping police with their enquiries.
