Police Investigate Sudden Death Of Three-Week-Old Baby In Queensland

Police in North Queensland are conducting an investigation following the tragic death of a three-week-old baby over the weekend. 

Emergency services responded to a call at a residence on Jones Street in Mighell, near Innisfail, around 9:30am on Saturday.

Upon arrival, authorities found the newborn was unresponsive.

Despite swift medical intervention, the infant was later deceased at the Innisfail Hospital.

Queensland Police have launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the newborn’s sudden death.

The investigation is being led by officers from the Innisfail Child Protection and Investigation Unit.

Authorities urge anyone with pertinent information to come forward and assist with the inquiry.
