A 39-year-old man from Cloverdale in Perth’s southern suburbs is set to appear in court after allegedly stealing an SUV with six children onboard in Western Australia’s Goldfields.
According to Kalgoorlie detectives, the incident happened on Wednesday when the man purportedly took a black SUV parked at a shopping centre on Lionel Street.

There were six children inside the vehicle at the time of the theft, aged from one to nine years old.
After commandeering the SUV, the man allegedly abandoned it on Carlyle Court in Boulder, leaving the children unharmed inside.
He then reportedly fled the scene on foot.
Authorities arrested him at a residence in Boulder.
The 39-year-old now faces multiple charges including six counts of deprivation of liberty, theft of the vehicle, driving without a licence, and breaching bail conditions.
He has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear before the Kalgoorlie Magistrate’s Court today.
Police have urged anyone with additional information regarding the incident, particularly witnesses present at the shopping centre during the theft, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
