A pedestrian died after being struck by a van on Sydney’s Upper North Shore early Tuesday morning.
The accident took place on the Pacific Highway near the intersection with Beechworth Road in Pymble around 6:20am.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene after receiving reports of a woman being hit by a northbound vehicle.
Paramedics administered first aid. However, the woman, who has yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
According to the police, the male driver of the van involved in the collision will undergo mandatory testing.
Police have warned that traffic in the area will be significantly impacted for several hours.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
Two of the three northbound lanes on the Pacific Highway, including a right-turn lane, were closed.
By 11 am, one northbound lane had reopened, although the remaining lanes continued to be closed.
“Heavy northbound traffic is easing,” said in an update on Live Traffic Sydney.
A crime scene has been established on Beechworth Road as police continue investigating the incident.
