‘Not a decision I come to’: Raygun clears up retirement speculation

Australian breaker Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn has said she is not retiring from the sport despite recent reports.

On Monday, Raygun appeared on Nine’s Today show, saying her comments on Jimmy & Nath for Breakfast last week were taken out of proportion.

Raygun joined Jimmy & Nath For Breakfast last week, where she revealed she wouldn’t be competing in some competitions anymore:

“It’s not a decision that I did come to. I was talking on 2Day FM about how I’m not going to do certain competitions anymore, which didn’t seem like such a big deal because Breaking is not going to be in the Olympics anyway,” she said.

“But you know, I’m still going to be part of community jams, or I’d like to go to community jams and still dance and still break. I never use the word retire – I’m not retiring.”

Raygun’s clarification now explains her surprise appearance at Tones and I’s concert at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, on Saturday night.

The Olympian took to the stage during the last chorus of Dance With Me, performing a snippet of her Paris Olympics routine which she scored zero for.

“Raygun the most beautiful kindest full of life human I have met. It was an honour to celebrate you last night,” Tones said in a social media post.

“Thank you for sharing the stage with me and bringing smiles to so many faces. You always have a friend in me. Tones 🦘❤️”
