Newborn Baby Found Safe After Being Allegedly Taken From Ipswich

A newborn baby who was allegedly taken from Ipswich has since been found safe after an extensive search. 

According to Queensland Police, an 18-year-old woman and the baby girl were located in Ipswich at around 11AM on Wednesday. 

An amber alert was issued after the baby was taken from a suburb in Basin Pocket on Tuesday.

Police attempted to appeal to the 18-year-old woman to turn the child in for further medical care. 

The amber alert stated that the child “may be at significant risk” and that the child was last seen in the company of two women.

The baby was last seen being put into a Suzuki Liana at around 2:30PM on Tuesday afternoon. 

The child was found earlier this morning unharmed. 

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
