The Federal Court has found, on the balance of probabilities, Bruce Lehrmann did rape Brittany Higgins at Parliament House in 2019.
The verdict in the Bruce Lehrmann defamation case against Network Ten and journalist Lisa Wilkinson has been finalised.
Justice Michael Lee delivered his 324-page-long judgment, highlighting its complexity and the controversy surrounding the proceedings.
Justice Lee found the pair did have sex in Senator Linda Reynolds and that Ms Higgins did not consent. He also found Mr Lehrmann was indifferent to whether he consented.
“He did not care one way or the other, whether Ms Higgins understood or agreed to what was going on.”
“Mr Lehrmann raped Ms Higgins.”
More to come.
