Man In Custody After Alleged Vape Robbery And Attempted Sale To Minors

A 25-year-old man has been detained in police custody overnight following a series of allegedly violent incidents in Swansea.

The sequence of events unfolded late on Tuesday afternoon, leaving a tobacconist on the Pacific Highway and Swansea RSL at the centre of the crime spree.

According to police reports, the suspect first entered a tobacconist on the Pacific Highway, where he allegedly assaulted a shop assistant.

The assailant reportedly punched the staff member before escalating the violence by threatening him with a broken bottle.

The man then fled the scene with approximately 20 vapes.

Shortly after the initial incident, law enforcement received another call from Swansea RSL.

Witnesses reported that the same individual was attempting to sell the stolen vapes, including to minors, within the club premises.

During the attempted sale, a 16-year-old was reportedly punched in the face by the suspect.

Police have apprehended the alleged suspect, who was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple offences, including robbery armed with an offensive weapon, affray, and larceny.

The 25-year-old suspect is set to make his first appearance in Belmont Court today.

The police are conducting a thorough investigation, working to determine the motive behind the violent spree and any potential connections between the suspect and the targeted locations.

Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the incidents to come forward.
