Police have charged a 48-year-old man with murder after a body was discovered inside a home on the Gold Coast in April of this year.
The decomposed body of 69-year-old Tomislav Nemes was found at his Benowa home after relatives of the victim called police to request a welfare check.
According to police, Mr Nemes was likely dead for around 12 months before his body was discovered.

Police established Operation Victor Countryside to investigate Mr Nemes’ death.
A 48-year-old man was arrested at Southport yesterday and charged with murder in relation to Mr Nemes’ death.
The man is set to face the Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Police have released footage of the welfare check in the hopes witnesses may be able to come forward with information.
Anyone who knew Mr Nemes or has information pertaining to his death is urged to contact police.
