A man has been arrested in relation to the disappearance of teenager Shyanne-Lee Tatnell in Tasmania.
The arrest follows the discovery of the 14-year-old’s suspected remains on a bush trail north-east of Launceston on Wednesday.
A 36-year-old Scottsdale man was arrested on Thursday in Launceston.
Police said in a statement that investigations into the Miss Tatnell’s disappearance are still ongoing.
“The man remains in custody and investigations are continuing,” Tasmania Police said in a statement.
“No charges have been laid at this stage.”
Forensic teams are still working to determine whether the remains belong to the missing teenager.
Miss Tatnell has been missing since April 30th with nearly 200 police officers participating in two large scale searches at two separate locations.
It is understood one of the searches involved the use of a cadaver dog.
